What the Job Is About

As a Store Cleaner at Dis-Chem, your job is to make sure the store is always clean and hygienic for both staff and customers. You’ll be keeping all areas of the store neat and tidy — from the sales floor to the back rooms and even the canteen.

Here’s what your daily tasks might include:

• Cleaning the shop floor, stock rooms, dispensary, admin office, toilets, and canteen.
• Making sure everything is neat before the store opens.
• Using the right cleaning products and tools for different areas.
• Replacing toilet paper, soap, and paper towels in restrooms.
• Keeping an eye out during the day for any mess and cleaning it up quickly.
• Making sure warning signs like “Wet Floor” are up while cleaning.

What You Need to Get Started

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience
• Able to speak and understand English clearly
• Basic customer service skills
• Must be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
• A second local language is a bonus
