✅ Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (Matric)
Grade C PSIRA Accreditation
Minimum of 3 years’ general experience in the retail sector (e.g. shopping malls, warehouses)
Must be a South African citizen
No criminal record (MIE, credit, and background checks will apply)

Advantageous:

At least 1 year of direct experience in a similar security role
Driver’s License and PDP (if applicable for driver security roles)
Ability to speak a third language (beneficial but not mandatory)

📝 Job Responsibilities

As a Dis-Chem Security Guard, you’ll be expected to:

Provide on-site security services in line with PSIRA regulations and company policies
Patrol premises regularly, monitor surveillance systems, and prevent unauthorized access
Control access for visitors, staff, and vehicles – including searching when necessary
Monitor for and report suspicious activity, theft, or disorderly conduct
Respond to emergencies, including fire, theft, or safety violations
Assist in opening and closing procedures
Complete occurrence books and reports
Ensure all assets, staff, and customers are safe and secure
Follow standard operating procedures during crises (armed robbery, fire, evacuation, etc.)
Act professionally and courteously at all times when dealing with customers and staff
