The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is looking for a Driver & General Maintenance Worker to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their Headquarters in Woodstock. 🚗 What You’ll Be Doing

As a Driver & General Maintenance Worker, your main role is to safely transport staff, participants, and goods while also assisting with general maintenance tasks. You’ll work across different DTHF sites, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

✅ Your Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Safe Driving: Transport staff, participants, and equipment while following SA road and traffic laws.
🔹 Route Planning: Use road maps or Google Maps to find the best and fastest routes.
🔹 Vehicle Maintenance: Check oil, water, tyres, fuel, and lighting. Report any issues and assist in getting quotes for repairs.
🔹 Facilities Support: Help with general maintenance at different DTHF sites.
🔹 Documentation Handling: Assist with transporting important documents when required.
🔹 Team Support: When not driving, help the Operational Managers with general tasks.

📌 What You Need to Apply

🎓 Minimum Requirements:

✔️ Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
✔️ Valid SA Code 10 Driver’s License with PDP
✔️ 2-3 years of driving experience in a professional setting
✔️ 2-3 years of general maintenance work experience
✔️ Strong knowledge of SA road laws & safety regulations
✔️ Familiarity with Cape Town & Western Cape routes
✔️ Ability to use Google Maps and road maps
✔️ Experience in routine vehicle maintenance
✔️ Skilled in using hand and electrical tools
✔️ Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
✔️ Effective verbal & written communication skills
✔️ Ability to work independently & in a team
✔️ No traffic violations or past offences
✔️ Willing to work irregular hours (including weekends)
