DSV Learnership Opportunity: No Experience Needed – 12-Month Logistics Training Now Open

Are you between 18 and 30 years old and looking to build a strong future in the logistics industry? DSV, a global transport and logistics company, is offering an incredible Learnership Programme where you can get real skills and training in warehouse work, business operations, freight handling, transport, and more. If you’re passionate about learning while working, this opportunity might be exactly what you need to kick-start your career.

This learnership is a full-time contract that runs for 12 months. You’ll be working 8 hours a day and earning a monthly stipend (to be confirmed). The starting date is as soon as possible, so don’t wait too long to apply.

What Is This DSV Learnership All About?

The DSV Learnership is designed to give you hands-on experience in the logistics industry. You’ll not only work in real business environments but also gain qualifications that can help you get a permanent job in the future.

You’ll be placed in one of several courses, depending on your strengths and career goals. These courses are all registered and come with proper qualifications. Here are some of the training paths you might take:

  • Warehouse Supervision NQF Level 4
  • Road Transport Supervision NQF Level 4
  • Business Administration NQF Level 4
  • Transport Operations NQF Level 4
  • Lifting Machine Operations NQF Levels 3 & 4
  • Freight Handling NQF Level 3
  • Freight Forwarding & Customs Clearance NQF Level 3
  • Project Management

During your interview, the course that best suits your strengths will be discussed.

What You’ll Learn and Do on the Job

This learnership will give you a chance to learn the most important tasks in logistics. Some of the duties you’ll be doing include:

  • Working in the warehouse: packing, moving, and organizing goods.
  • Learning how to move goods across the country and borders.
  • Helping with transport planning and delivery schedules.
  • Understanding how to complete customs paperwork.
  • Helping with basic office work like filling out forms and creating reports.
  • Getting involved in transport and logistics projects.
  • Learning how to use lifting machines safely.
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe.
  • Learning road transport rules and best practices.
  • Helping others by sharing what you learn and looking after equipment.

This learnership is not just about watching – it’s about doing. You will be learning by working and getting guidance from experienced professionals.

Who Can Apply?

To apply, you’ll need:

  • A Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
  • The ability to speak and understand English
  • To live within 15km of the job location

While not required, it’s a bonus if:

  • You’re between 18 and 30 years old
  • You have previous warehouse experience
  • You are part of the EE/AA (Employment Equity) group

  1. Complete an assessment called the “Potential Work Performance Assessment Battery”.
  2. Answer questions like:

    • Do you have transport to get to work?
    • Where exactly do you live? (suburb, city, or area)
