📖 Minimum Requirements

✅ Education:

Grade 12 (Standard 10) with Mathematics and Science
Certificate in Mine Surveying

✅ Experience:

At least 6 months of practical mine surveying experience in a metalliferous mine

💼 Key Responsibilities

✔️ Assist with underground and surface surveys, including profiling, measuring pits, dumps, and stockpiles
✔️ Help the surveyor install pegs and take off-sets for accurate mapping
✔️ Conduct mini risk assessments before starting new tasks
✔️ Ensure all survey equipment is available, clean, and in good working condition
✔️ Measure distances, elevations, and angles using tape measures or digital tools
✔️ Label and track samples correctly
✔️ Monitor beacons for subsidence and ensure accurate boundary marking
✔️ Keep the work area and storeroom clean and organized
✔️ Safeguard all survey equipment when in use and after work
✔️ Assist with additional duties as needed, like cutting wooden blocks and flag tapes
