Raymond Mhlaba Municipality invites young South Africans to apply for their 2025 Law Enforcement Learnership Programme (10 Posts). The closing date for applications is 30 June 2025 at 12h00.

Are you between the ages of 18 and 35 and dreaming of a career in law enforcement? Raymond Mhlaba Municipality, in partnership with the EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme), is offering 10 amazing learnership opportunities for young people who want to gain experience, learn new skills, and help keep their communities safe.

This is a 12-month paid learnership that gives you both classroom training and hands-on experience in the field of law enforcement. If you’ve finished Grade 12 and you’re currently unemployed, this could be your chance to kickstart your career in the public safety field.

What This Learnership Is About

This EPWP Law Enforcement Learnership is more than just a job — it’s a stepping stone into the world of community safety and municipal work. You’ll learn how to enforce local by-laws, assist with public safety projects, and support law enforcement officers across the Raymond Mhlaba area.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is strictly for youth aged 18 to 35 who live within the Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality. You’ll need to meet the following requirements:

• Must have completed Grade 12 (Matric)
• Be unemployed at the time of applying
• Must live within the municipality
• Provide a confirmation letter from your Ward Councillor (not proof of address)
• Willing to fully commit to the 12-month programme
• Submit a detailed CV along with:
  • A certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • A certified copy of your South African ID
• Must not be currently enrolled in another learnership or internship

What You’ll Do During the Programme

As part of this learnership, you’ll take part in a mix of classroom lessons and on-the-job training. Here’s what your duties might include:

• Assisting law enforcement officers with their daily work
• Making sure people follow municipal by-laws
• Helping control traffic and keep public areas safe
• Supporting crime prevention campaigns in local communities
• Attending training workshops and feedback sessions
• Reporting problems or unsafe behaviour to supervisors
• Acting professionally and showing respect at all times
