Eskom invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Learner Intern Graduate Engineering Opportunities in Construction and Project Management (2 Posts). The closing date for applications is 25 November 2025. Successful candidates who are selected will sign a two-year internship contract and will receive a monthly stipend according to Eskom policies and procedures. This opportunity is aimed at young professionals who want to start strong careers in the engineering field while gaining workplace experience in a well-established national company.

An Opportunity to Start a Real Engineering Career

Engineering is a career that requires both education and practical experience. Many young graduates struggle to secure jobs because they lack on-the-job exposure. Eskom is offering a rare chance for recent graduates to grow their engineering skills while working in the Power Lines Department, learning how real engineering projects are planned, managed, and completed.

This internship focuses on Construction and Project Management. Candidates will work closely with qualified engineers, managers, and technical teams to learn the processes involved in delivering safe, reliable electrical infrastructure to communities and businesses. The programme helps young professionals grow technical skills, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities that will prepare them for long-term careers in the industry.

What the Programme Offers

This is a two-year full-time internship with structured learning, mentorship, and real engineering responsibilities. Unlike many short training programmes, this internship gives participants enough time to learn in detail, become confident in their work, and contribute meaningfully to projects.

  • Engineering design principles
  • Construction support and coordination
  • Workplace health and safety practices
  • Continuous improvement in operations

Interns will also learn how major engineering projects are executed from beginning to end. This includes resource management, reporting, technical procedures, teamwork, and meeting project deadlines.
