Fairplay Hardware Learnerships 2025 Now Open

Fairplay Hardware invites young and passionate individuals to apply for their Wholesale & Retail Learnership Programme 2024. The closing date for all applications is 30 May 2025. If you’re between the ages of 18 and 35 and currently unemployed, this is a golden chance to gain work experience and get paid while learning valuable skills.


What’s This Learnership About?

Fairplay Hardware is one of South Africa’s fastest-growing hardware and retail companies. In 2025, they are offering a 12-month Wholesale & Retail Learnership Programme (NQF Level 2) to help unemployed youth develop practical skills in the retail world.

This opportunity is perfect if you want to kickstart a career in retail and gain real-life experience without needing previous work history. You’ll not only gain knowledge but also receive a monthly stipend while learning.

The learnership is available in the following locations:

  • Mokopane
  • Jane Furse
  • Bochum
  • Lebowakgomo
  • Kwamhlanga

What Will You Learn?

As a learner at Fairplay Hardware, you’ll be part of different teams and departments. This helps you understand how a retail business works. Your tasks will include:

  • Helping customers and working at the tills (cashiers)
  • Receiving stock and making sure shelves are neat and full
  • Creating eye-catching product displays
  • Helping with sales and keeping track of inventory
  • Keeping the store clean and organized
  • Assisting senior staff with everyday store tasks
  • Learning how to use the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and basic admin

Who Can Apply?

To be part of this exciting learnership, you must meet the following requirements:

Education:

  • You must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Be able to read, write, and do basic maths
  • You should speak and understand English well

Personal Criteria:

  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Have a valid South African ID
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • You must not have done the same NQF Level 2 learnership before
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be in good health
  • Be eager to learn and work in a fast-moving retail environment
  • Be a team player and willing to work under pressure

What You’ll Get

  • 12 months of hands-on retail training
  • A monthly stipend (you’ll get paid while you learn!)
