🌾 What’s the Job All About?

As a Farm Assistant – Workshop, you’ll work closely with a Senior Artisan, helping with everything from handling tools and machinery to supporting agricultural research. This role is perfect for someone who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, enjoys working with farming equipment, and wants to be part of something bigger—supporting South Africa’s farming and research development.

You won’t be stuck in an office—you’ll be out in the field and in the workshop, fixing, helping, and learning as you go.

🧰 Your Main Responsibilities (in simple terms):

  • Help out with daily tasks around the farm workshop
  • Follow instructions given by the Senior Artisan
  • Use tools and take care of them (don’t worry—you’ll be supervised)
  • Help with basic research work on the farm
  • Report back verbally on what you’ve done each day
  • Keep up the quality standards expected from a Farm Assistant
  • Look for ways to improve and learn more on the job

📚 What You Need to Qualify:

  • Grade 10 certificate (Yes, that’s it—no fancy degree needed!)
  • 3 years’ experience working in a workshop (especially with tractors or agricultural machines)
  • A driver’s license (Code 8 or 10) is a nice-to-have
  • Good communication skills—both writing and speaking
  • Physically fit and able to work outside—even in tough weather
  • Must follow health and safety rules (SHE/OHS standards)
