🛠️ What Is This Job All About?

As a Miner at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, you’ll work under the guidance of a Shift Overseer. You’ll be making sure all mining and blasting work is done right, safely, and on time. Think of it as being the team leader for underground mining work. You’ll be in charge of a lot – from checking safety to handling explosives – and everything in between.

📚 What You Need to Apply:

You don’t need a college degree, but here are the must-haves:

• Grade 10 (Standard 8) school certificate
• Certificate in Blasting for Scheduled Mines or
• National Certificate in Hard Rock Underground Mining
• Valid Driver’s License (Code 08 / B)

These will give you an edge (but they’re not required):

• Competent A & B Certificate
• Blasting Assistant Certificate

💼 Got Work Experience?

This will give you a huge boost:

• 2 years of experience in trackless mining
• If you’ve worked in mining before (even better!)

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing (Simplified Duties):

• Lead and guide your team during the mining shift
• Handle all blasting and drilling duties
• Check for gas and make sure the air is safe
• Make sure the workplace is watered down and properly supported
• Take care of tools, machinery, and other equipment
• Keep things organized and report anything unsafe
• Deal with old or leftover explosives the right way
• Follow all safety rules and help others do the same
• Write in the shift communication book
• Report accidents right away
• Help investigate any incidents and suggest solutions
