Armed Response Officer Responsibilities

As an Armed Response Officer, your main responsibility will be to respond quickly and professionally to security incidents while ensuring the safety of clients and their property.

Your daily duties may include:

Responding to alarm activations and emergency call-outs
Patrolling assigned areas to prevent criminal activity
Protecting clients, staff, and property
Following company security procedures and operational standards
Using firearms responsibly in accordance with legal requirements
Completing incident reports accurately
Communicating with the control room and supervisors
Providing excellent customer service during emergency situations
Maintaining company equipment and vehicles
Following all safety and legal regulations

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Grade 10 qualification
Valid PSIRA Grade C registration
At least 2 years’ experience in the security industry
No criminal record
Willingness to undergo regular criminal background checks
Physically fit and in good health
Comfortable working at heights
Firearm Competency Certificate for Handgun (Business Purposes)
Valid driver’s licence with at least 2 years’ driving experience
Must live in or around Cape Town

Computer literacy will be an added advantage but is not a compulsory requirement.
