What You’ll Be Doing Every Day

What You’ll Need to Qualify

To apply for the Junior Fire Fighter position, you need to meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) as your basic school qualification.
• IFSAC-accredited training and NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification.
• Between 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience.
• A valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Be medically and physically fit for intense physical activities.
• Strong knowledge of fire prevention systems and procedures.
• Understanding of fire chemistry and fire classification.
• Clear criminal record.
• Experience with hazardous material (Hazmat) operations.
• EMT and First Aid certification (Levels 1–3).

It’s also a plus if you have advanced driving experience and solid communication skills. Since teamwork is essential in firefighting, being able to work well under pressure and follow directions quickly is very important.
