To qualify for this role, you should have at least a Grade 10 educational background or NQF Level 4. You must be registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) with a Grade B or higher, and possess an Armed Reaction Certificate. Additionally, you need a valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate for handgun, shotgun, and rifle use for business purposes.

Previous experience in armed response or law enforcement — ideally at least 2 years — will strengthen your application. If you have mining experience, that’s a bonus! Having a clean criminal record is essential, and you must be in good physical condition because the job often involves dealing with physical demands and maintaining high alertness for long hours. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others are important qualities, along with a valid driver’s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
