FLS Apprenticeships Programme 2026 x 10

FLS invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their 2026 Apprentice Programme, offering ten apprenticeship positions in Chloorkop. The closing date for applications is 28 November 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for young individuals who are eager to start their engineering careers, gain hands-on experience, and become part of a company working toward a sustainable future.

A Career Path With Purpose and Growth

Many young people dream of a career that not only helps them grow but also contributes to something meaningful. The FLS Apprentice Programme gives applicants a chance to be part of a company that believes in building technology that improves the world. FLS helps industries create products and processes needed for a future that is greener, smarter, and more sustainable. Their focus is on real solutions that improve daily operations, reduce waste, and support new advancements in engineering.

At FLS, apprentices do not just learn the trade. They become part of the company’s long-term mission.

Who You Will Work With

Working in a Global and Diverse Environment

Successful applicants will join the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) mining team. This department includes people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. This means that apprentices will gain exposure to different ways of thinking, problem-solving approaches, and work methods used across the world.

Being part of a multinational organization helps apprentices develop skills that go beyond the workshop. You learn how large operations work, how international projects are managed, and how engineering solutions are developed and delivered in real industries.

What the Apprenticeship Includes

Classroom Training and Practical Experience

The FLS Apprentice Programme combines structured classroom instruction with real hands-on learning. This balanced approach allows learners to:

  • Understand the theory behind the work
  • Learn how machines, systems, and tools function
  • Practice real tasks under expert guidance
  • Gain confidence in their trade

The programme is designed to teach apprentices everything they need to become skilled professionals in Fitting and Machining. This includes understanding mechanical systems, using workshop tools, measuring accurately, maintaining equipment, assembling parts, and problem-solving in practical situations.

Trade Certificate After Successful Training

Once the apprenticeship is completed and the trade test is passed, participants will receive a recognized trade certificate. This certificate opens doors to long-term employment opportunities and career growth within the engineering and industrial sectors.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Education

Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 with English and Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) with a minimum score of 40% or Level 3
  • N3 Mechanical qualification

These requirements ensure that applicants have the basic foundation to understand engineering concepts, calculations, and instructions used in the workshop.

Experience and Soft Skills

While not mandatory, having experience in a technical environment will be an advantage. Applicants should also have:

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A natural interest in engineering
  • The ability to work with others in a team environment

These qualities help apprentices succeed in a workshop setting where accuracy, communication, and teamwork are important.

What Applicants Must Submit

All applicants must upload the following documents when applying through Workday:

  • Copy of their qualifications
  • Copy of their ID

Applications without these documents may not be considered, so it is important to ensure that everything is submitted correctly before the closing date.

A Company That Values Diversity

FLS prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer. They believe that different backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences make their team stronger. Because of this, they encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

In their goal to remove bias, applicants are asked not to include personal information such as:

  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • Photos
  • Number of children

This ensures that focus stays on skills, potential, and work ability.

Apply Early to Increase Your Chances

Applications are reviewed continuously, and interviews may take place before the deadline. Since this is a competitive opportunity with limited positions, applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

A Bright Beginning for Future Engineers

The FLS Apprentice Programme is more than a job. It is a chance to start a meaningful career, learn from experienced professionals, build technical skills, and be part of a company that is shaping the future of engineering. If you want a role that challenges you, teaches you, and supports your long-term growth, make sure to submit your application before 28 November 2025 and take the first step toward a successful engineering career.
