About the Stockroom Associate Role

The Stockroom Associate plays a key role in keeping the store running smoothly. You’ll be the person who makes sure every product is received, stored, and displayed properly. This position is all about organization, speed, and accuracy. You’ll help move products efficiently from the stockroom to the sales floor so that customers can always find what they’re looking for.

It’s a great job for someone who enjoys physical work, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in creating a clean and organized workspace. You’ll work closely with the store management team and sales staff to make sure stock levels are accurate and available when needed.

Key Responsibilities

As a Stockroom Associate, you will:

  • Receive, unpack, and process new stock within the given time frame.
  • Manage and monitor the movement of stock between storage and the sales floor.
  • Provide updates and feedback to management regarding stock shortages, damages, or irregularities.
  • Ensure that the store meets sales and stock targets by keeping inventory organized and easy to find.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and store neatness.
  • Help reduce stock loss by following company policies on shrinkage control.
  • Make sure stock rotation happens regularly so that older items reach the floor first.
  • Work closely with your team to deliver the best shopping experience for every customer.

Your role is vital to keeping the store efficient and ensuring customers always have access to the latest trends.

Qualifications and Experience

To apply for this position, candidates should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification
  • At least 2 years of stockroom or retail experience (advantageous)
  • A hospitality background will be a plus, as it shows strong service and teamwork skills
  • Good understanding of retail processes and inventory control

If you’ve worked in a fast-paced store before, that experience will be a huge advantage.
