What You’ll Be Doing

Your main job will be to support the daily operations at a tailings site. (Tailings are leftover materials after minerals have been removed from ore — managing them is an important job in mining.)

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Work closely with your team leader or supervisor to reach daily targets.
• Inspect your work area every day to spot and report problems early.
• Help move and manage tailings material (waste from mining) on-site and at dumping areas.
• Report any issues or unexpected problems to your supervisor.
• Follow company rules and safety guidelines at all times.
• Handle pipelines – you’ll help extend them and make sure they’re connected properly.
• Open and close valves that control the flow of materials.
• Always be responsible for your own work and performance.
• Keep your work area neat, clean, and safe.

What You Need to Apply

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience:

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in a mining or earth-moving environment
• If you’ve worked with tailings dams or in mining before, that’s a bonus — but it’s not required
