Job Purpose

As a General Worker, your role will be to support day-to-day mining operations and ensure that contractual obligations and operational targets are met on time. Key Responsibilities

If selected for this position, you will perform a wide range of duties, including:

Operations

• Arrive on time and follow site-specific work schedules.
• Assist with valve operations, including opening and closing valves and deposition work.
• Carry out penstock operations such as wall dressing, packing, and closing holes at the dam.
• Help with installations including pipes, catwalks, freeboard poles (painting), and berm penstocks.
• Perform maintenance tasks and other duties as instructed by supervisors.

Health and Safety

• Always wear the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Take part in daily safety talks.
• Report any unsafe practices or working conditions immediately.
• Follow all safe work procedures and remain prepared for emergencies.

Basic Inspections

• Report defects linked to pump stations, leaks, or spillages.
• Inspect and monitor pressure gauges.

Housekeeping

• Assist with issuing materials from the stores.
