What This Job Is About

As an Assistant Store Manager, your job is to support the store manager in running the store smoothly every day. You will lead the team, help customers, manage stock, and make sure the store looks clean and attractive at all times.

You will also deal with customer complaints and staff issues, making sure everything is handled professionally and quickly.

Your Main Responsibilities

Leading Customer Service

• Set an example by delivering excellent customer service
• Help the team reach sales targets like UPT, ATV, and turnover
• Be active on the shop floor and guide staff during busy hours
• Make sure customers feel welcomed and valued

Visual Merchandising

• Follow company guidelines to display products correctly
• Make sure clothes are neatly hung, tagged, priced, and steamed
• Check the store regularly to keep everything looking fresh
• Send weekly visual merchandising updates

Managing Stock and Inventory

• Process new stock on the same day it arrives
• Check stock against invoices to avoid mistakes
• Keep the stockroom clean and well-organized
• Perform weekly and monthly stock counts
• Help prevent stock loss by following security procedures

Supervising Daily Store Operations

• Manage staff attendance and schedules
• Follow opening and closing procedures correctly
• Handle payments, cash-ups, and POS systems
• Process refunds and exchanges according to company rules
• Make sure the store is always clean and ready for customers

What You Need to Apply

To qualify for this role, you should have:

• A Matric certificate (this is required)
• A Bachelor’s degree (this is an advantage)
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience in a management role
