What You’ll Do as a Sales Assistant at GALXBOY

As a Sales Assistant, you’ll be one of the key people making sure customers have a great shopping experience. Your main goal will be to give excellent customer service, boost sales, and help the store reach its targets.

Customer Service Duties

• Welcome every customer with a friendly smile and help them find what they need.
• Give honest product advice and suggestions so customers get exactly what they want.
• Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to encourage customers to explore more products.
• Explain different payment options like PAYFLEX, PJN, and Happy Pay.
• Always look professional by following the company’s uniform and grooming standards.

Visual Merchandising

• Learn everything about the products – from materials to care instructions – so you can help customers better.
• Make sure clothes are steamed, tagged, priced, folded, and displayed neatly.
• Follow GALXBOY’s visual merchandising guidelines to keep the store looking stylish and welcoming.

Stock Management

• Keep track of stock levels on the shop floor and restock items when needed.
• Maintain an organised and clean stockroom so it’s easy to find products quickly.
• Let managers know when items are running out, when certain products are selling well, or when new stock is needed.
• Unpack deliveries promptly and get products onto the floor without delay.

Store Operations and Housekeeping

• Arrive on time and follow all timekeeping rules.
• Process transactions accurately through the store’s POS system, whether it’s cash or card payments.
• Keep the store clean and tidy at all times – from dusting displays to sweeping the floor.

Skills and Qualities You’ll Need

• Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Extra education is a bonus.
• At least 1–2 years of retail work experience (preferably fashion retail).
• Understanding of how retail stores operate.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to take the lead when necessary.
