About the Job

Dis-Chem is looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented. You’ll be responsible for keeping the store, stockroom, dispensary, admin office, and canteen neat and hygienic at all times. From the moment the store opens to when the doors close, you’ll make sure everything looks and feels clean for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Cleaning & Hygiene

• Make sure the store floor, shelves, and display areas are spotless before the doors open.
• Clean communal areas like the canteen, restrooms, and staff break rooms daily.
• Keep these spaces stocked with toilet paper, soap, and other essential items.
• Be ready to clean up spills or messes during the day as they happen.

2. Health & Safety

• Use the correct cleaning products and equipment for each type of job.
• Put up “wet floor” signs so customers know where to walk safely.
• Work according to Dis-Chem’s strict health and safety guidelines.

3. Customer Interaction

• Be friendly and professional if customers ask for help.
• Show a positive attitude and be approachable while working on the sales floor.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience.
• Ability to speak and understand English clearly.
• Basic customer service skills.
• Willingness to work retail store hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• Have previous retail store cleaning experience.
