🟡 Minimum Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following:

• ✅ Grade 11 or ABET Level (equivalent)
• ✅ MQA Competency B Certificate
• ✅ English communication skills – verbal and written
• ✅ Fluency in any of the 11 official SA languages
• ✅ Must be South African with a clear criminal record
• ✅ Must be declared medically fit by Gold One’s Occupational Health Centre
• ✅ Ability to work underground and adapt to shift rotations
• ✅ Physically fit, motivated, and able to work under pressure
• ✅ Must follow safety rules and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant: General Underground, your duties will include:

• Working in a rotation of shifts, including night shifts
• Following safety procedures as trained by Gold One’s Training Centre
• Checking and reporting equipment conditions
• Practicing good housekeeping and ensuring a clean workspace underground
• Quickly reporting any issues that could affect work progress
• Assisting team members with underground tasks
• Ensuring full compliance with MHSA and Gold One’s safety motto:
  “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
