Minimum Requirements

To apply for this General Worker position, make sure you meet these basic requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric or NQF Level 4 Equivalent
Able to work in warm areas with pungent smells (like feathers and blood)
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
Willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays if required

What You’ll Be Doing (Duties & Responsibilities)

As a General Worker (Maintenance), you’ll help keep critical production areas clean, safe, and operational. Here’s what your job will include:

Daily Duties:

Clean the DAF unit, feather area, sump pit, and water sieve unit
Make sure machines are washed properly and report any damage
Report equipment failures to shift controllers immediately
Help inspect and replace broken shackles or yokes in airline chiller units
Help with replacing plucker fingers during weekend maintenance
Ensure all valves, screens, pumps, and scrapers are working correctly
Keep the sump pit and feather areas clean and ready before every start-up

You’ll be part of a hands-on maintenance team, making sure the production line runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
