What Will You Do as a Warehouse Assistant?

Your main job is to assist with deliveries, collections, and warehouse support. You’ll be working closely with drivers and the warehouse team to make sure everything gets delivered on time and in perfect condition.

Here’s what your day might look like:

Delivery Support

Go with the driver to deliver parcels and important documents to customers and suppliers.
Make sure everything you collect or deliver has the right paperwork attached, including Proof of Delivery (POD).
Help load and offload items carefully and safely.
Assist with urgent or special deliveries, even outside of normal working hours, if needed.
Help ensure that items delivered early in the morning or late at night are correct and properly documented.
Make sure all deliveries are neatly wrapped and secured on pallets, especially for customer orders.

Safety and Presentation

Wear the right protective clothing (PPE) and always look clean and professional.
Follow all safety rules on-site and report any unsafe areas or ideas to improve safety.
Keep your work area clean and organized – good housekeeping matters!
Always be available on your cellphone in case your team needs to reach you.

Who Will You Report To?

You’ll be reporting to the Warehouse Controller and work closely with the Shipping Team Leader. You’ll also be responsible for handing over signed delivery documents and reporting any shortages or extras.

What You Need to Apply

You don’t need years of experience to apply for this role. Here’s what you’ll need:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate
A valid forklift license is a bonus but not required
