Life Green Group Learnerships 2025: Apply Now for Horticulture Work Integrated Learning Opportunities

Life Green Group is inviting passionate and hardworking horticulture students to apply for their 2025 – 2026 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. This 12-month opportunity is designed for students who need workplace training in order to complete their horticulture or related qualifications. Applications for this programme will close on 29 August 2025 at 12:00 noon, and successful candidates will begin in September 2025.

The programme will take place in Johannesburg, Midrand, and Pretoria, within Life Green Group’s Landscape Division. Students who are selected will receive a monthly allowance and valuable hands-on training to prepare them for future careers in the horticulture industry.


About the Learnership Programme

The Life Green Group WIL programme is aimed at bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and practical workplace experience. It ensures that horticulture students are not only academically ready but also fully equipped with the skills required in the real working world.

Over the 12-month period, students will be exposed to various aspects of horticulture, including:

  • Plant Propagation & Nursery Management – Learn how to grow, nurture, and manage different plant species.
  • Landscape Installation & Maintenance – Take part in designing and maintaining outdoor landscape projects.
  • Irrigation Systems Management – Gain experience in operating and maintaining water-efficient irrigation systems.
  • Pest & Disease Management – Understand how to identify and manage common plant-related issues.
  • Environmental Sustainability – Apply environmentally friendly methods in horticultural practices.
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Work according to safety standards and best practices in the industry.
  • Project Management & Client Engagement – Get involved in planning projects and dealing with clients directly.

To ensure that each student gets the most out of this programme, Life Green Group will provide mentorship, supervision, and performance reviews throughout the year.


Who Can Apply

This programme is open to students currently enrolled at a University of Technology in a horticulture-related qualification. Candidates applying must:

  • Require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or internship placement as part of their studies.
  • Have a genuine passion for horticulture and be eager to learn.
  • Be professional, reliable, and adaptable in different working conditions.
  • Show good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
