What Is the Warehouse Associate Role About?

The Warehouse Associate role at Maersk Contract Logistics focuses on the efficient handling of goods and inventory inside the warehouse. Your main goal is to ensure that products are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched correctly, safely, and on time.

This role is very important because it directly affects customer satisfaction and the smooth running of warehouse operations. Accuracy, safety, and teamwork are key parts of daily work in this position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Explained

Receiving and Storing Goods

One of your daily tasks will be receiving incoming shipments. This includes checking deliveries to make sure the items are correct and in good condition. You will help unload goods and ensure they are stored properly according to warehouse procedures.

You will also enter items into the Warehouse Management System (WMS), label products correctly, and place them in the correct storage locations. Proper storage helps prevent damage and makes it easier to find items later.

Order Picking and Packing

A major part of this role involves picking and packing customer orders. You will carefully select the correct products based on order instructions and prepare them for shipment.

Products must be packed securely to prevent damage during transport. Attention to detail is very important here, as mistakes can lead to delays or unhappy customers.

Inventory Management Responsibilities

Warehouse Associates play a key role in keeping inventory accurate. You will take part in regular stock counts and cycle counts to ensure records match the physical stock.

If there are any differences between records and actual stock, you will help investigate and report these issues to supervisors. Keeping inventory accurate helps the warehouse operate smoothly and avoids losses.

Loading and Dispatching Shipments

You will assist with loading outgoing shipments onto trucks and other transport vehicles. This must be done safely and correctly to avoid damage and delays.

You will also make sure that orders are processed properly and dispatched on time. Meeting dispatch deadlines is very important in the logistics industry.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

Safety is a top priority at Maersk. As a Warehouse Associate, you must follow all safety rules and operating procedures at all times.

This includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), using machinery correctly, and reporting any hazards, accidents, or equipment problems to your supervisor. A clean and safe warehouse protects everyone who works there.

General Warehouse Duties and Teamwork

You will help keep the warehouse clean, organised, and efficient at all times. This includes keeping walkways clear, storing tools properly, and maintaining a tidy work area.

You may also operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts. If you have forklift certification, this will be an advantage.

Working well with others is very important in this role. You will collaborate with team members and other departments to meet performance targets and maintain high service quality.
