What Does a Makro Merchandiser Do?

As a Merchandiser at Makro, your job is to make sure that products in the store look appealing, are easy to find, and are well-stocked. You’ll be the person who helps bring the store to life by making sure shelves are filled, clean, and properly arranged. You’ll also work with other teams to make sure the store feels exciting and easy for shoppers.

This role is shift-based and full-time on a fixed-term contract. You’ll be expected to work around 9 hours per day, and you’ll move between different stores within a certain area.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Here’s what your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Counting and recording stock that needs to be put on shelves.
• Unpacking and noting what new stock has arrived.
• Organizing shelves and product displays to attract buyers.
• Making sure shelves are always full and look neat.
• Creating cool displays for special events or seasons.
• Following display guidelines provided by Makro.
• Checking product quality and reporting damaged items.
• Using creative ideas to draw attention to specific products.
• Helping customers and answering product questions.
• Keeping stockrooms and floor areas clean and safe.
• Working closely with sales and marketing teams.

What You Need to Apply:

To be considered for the position, you must have the following:

• A completed Matric certificate (or National Senior Certificate).
• Some experience in merchandising, sales, or customer service.
• Be fluent in English.
• A clean criminal record.
• You must live within 15km of the job area.
• Your own smartphone with at least 10GB of storage.
