About the Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) Position

The Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and will be responsible for supporting daily pharmacy operations. This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about patient care.

As a Pharmacist Assistant, you will help ensure that the pharmacy runs smoothly, stock is well managed, and customers receive friendly and efficient service.

Your Main Responsibilities

In this position, you will handle a mix of pharmacy, administrative, and customer service duties, including:

• Stock Control: Making sure medicines and other pharmacy items are well-organized, properly stored, and always available.
• Dispensing: Assisting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication safely and accurately.
• Administration: Managing records, prescriptions, and general administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Housekeeping: Keeping the pharmacy clean, tidy, and organized at all times.

What You Need to Qualify

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

Essential:

• You must be qualified as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
• You must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar pharmacy or retail environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of dispensing and ordering systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment (advantageous).
