MTN invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Trainee Technology Learnership Vacancies (Multiple Posts) within the Bayobab Fibre Infrastructure team. The closing date for applications is 24 December 2025. This opportunity is aimed at young graduates who are ready to gain real workplace experience while building a strong foundation in the technology and telecommunications space.
If you recently completed your degree or diploma and are looking for a way to enter the corporate and technology world without years of experience, this MTN learnership could be the perfect starting point.
MTN is one of the largest and most respected telecommunications companies in Africa. It is known for innovation, strong leadership, and investing in young talent. Through its learnership and graduate programmes, MTN gives young professionals a chance to learn, grow, and contribute to real business operations.
This Trainee Technology role is based within Bayobab, MTN’s digital infrastructure business, specifically in the Fibre Infrastructure team. This means you will gain exposure to how large-scale fibre and technology operations are planned, supported, and managed.
As a Trainee Technology, your main role will be to provide end-to-end administrative and coordination support to the Fibre Infrastructure team. You will assist with daily operations, reporting, documentation, meetings, and communication across different teams.
This role is not about sitting idle. You will be involved in real projects, real meetings, and real decision-making support processes. It is designed to help you understand how technology teams operate within a large organisation.
You will provide input during strategic meetings when required and support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. This exposure helps you understand how big decisions are made and how different departments work together.
You will also assist with all projects initiated within the team, whether they are local or global projects. This includes preparing documents for approvals and decision-making, tracking progress, and reporting on outcomes.
A big part of your role will involve coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders. You will help schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure follow-ups are done on time.
You will also type and prepare reports according to required formats, provide status and progress updates, and assist with ad hoc reporting when needed. These tasks help develop strong administrative and professional reporting skills.
You will support the team in identifying risks and ensuring proper controls are in place. You will also help ensure that work aligns with MTN’s policies, procedures, timelines, and service level agreements.
This role will teach you how quality standards are maintained in a large organisation and why accuracy and timeliness are so important.
You will assist with researching content for presentations, creating and editing presentation slides, and ensuring everything meets MTN’s corporate communication standards. This is valuable experience for anyone looking to grow in a professional environment.
You will also help gather and organise information for reports shared with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external vendors. Following up to ensure information is submitted on time will be part of your daily responsibilities.
Another important part of the role is assisting with knowledge management. This includes helping curate content in knowledge bases, understanding documents, and supporting staff in finding the information they need.
You may also assist in preparing training documents, contract annexures, service documentation, and business presentations.
To qualify for this MTN learnership, you must have:
This could include qualifications in technology, IT, business, engineering, or similar areas.
