NECSA IS HIRING SECURITY OFFICERS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Ever wondered what it takes to keep some of South Africa’s most important places safe? The NECSA group is now searching for the next team of Security Officers who are serious about their jobs. If you’re between 18 and 35 years old and want to be part of a top security team, here’s your big chance. There are 10 posts to fill, and the application window isn’t going to stay open forever—the last day to apply is 8 November 2025.

Why Your Role as a Security Officer at NECSA Matters

Working with NECSA isn’t just about standing at a door. It’s about making sure everyone—employees and visitors, from around the block or across the globe—feels safe the moment they step onto NECSA grounds. If you see yourself doing important work, working with a talented team and taking on real challenges every day, this might be your perfect fit.

Security Officers at NECSA are the ones who keep track of every person, car, or package that enters or leaves. You’ll be busy, that’s for sure, but your work will seriously matter. Every shift is different, but your main task stays the same: keep the place safe and everyone inside it even safer.

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Make sure only approved people, cars, and objects come through the gates.
  • Use NECSA’s access system all the time—and see that everyone else does too.
  • Do proper checks so nothing slips by, whether it’s a person, vehicle, or delivery.
  • Watch for any signs of trouble while walking your patrol—and report anything weird or out of place.
  • Sometimes, you’ll need to escort VIPs, gear, or vehicles safely to where they belong inside NECSA grounds.
  • Be ready with all your equipment and keep your gear in top shape, especially your firearm.
  • Know what to do in an emergency; you might help with an evacuation drill.
  • Keep records and write clear reports about your patrols—NECSA counts on this info.

The Skills NECSA Wants

NECSA’s team isn’t looking for just anyone—they need people who can talk clearly, write down what happened, and stay aware of what’s going on around them at all times.

Here’s what will help you stand out:

  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Being organised when planning your workload.
  • Thinking on your feet and noticing small details.
  • Understanding people from different backgrounds—teamwork is key.
  • Managing your time and tasks without someone watching over your shoulder.

Do You Meet the Requirements?

This job isn’t for everyone, but if you check these boxes, you could be the perfect candidate for NECSA:

  • Have a Grade 12 certificate (or something similar, like NQF level 4).
  • You’ve got a Code B driver’s licence (or higher).
  • No criminal record and you meet all the vetting checks.
  • Fit enough for busy days—expect to be on your feet, patrolling and checking lots of things.
  • Hold a PSIRA certificate (Grade C or better), plus a valid SAPS firearm certificate.
  • Have proof that you’re qualified to work at a National Key Point site.
  • Bonus points if you already know what it’s like working at a National Key Point.

If you’ve had 2–3 years working in security—especially at a site with special safety needs—you’re already ahead of the game.

A Place for All—Employment Equity at NECSA

NECSA is all about giving everyone a fair shot. They’re serious about hiring African Females, Coloured Males, and African Males, so the team reflects the whole of South Africa.

What Else Should You Know?

  • These are junior, permanent jobs with pay that matches the market.
  • If you don’t hear anything in 30 days after applications close, your try wasn’t successful—but don’t quit chasing your goals!
