✅ What Does a Shelf Packer Do at Pick n Pay?

As a Shelf Packer, you’ll be the person who keeps the store looking great. You’ll make sure that shelves are clean, well-stocked, and attractively arranged so that customers can easily find what they need.

Here’s what your daily job might include:

👋 Helping customers with a smile
🧼 Keeping the shelves clean and tidy
📦 Restocking items neatly and correctly
🔄 Rotating old stock and removing expired or damaged goods
💰 Making sure prices and labels are correct
❄️ Checking cold storage items (like dairy and frozen food) to make sure temperatures are right
🛡️ Following safety and hygiene rules
🧍 Being on your feet, moving quickly, and staying alert
📢 Sharing special deals with customers
🧠 Working calmly and efficiently, even when the store gets busy

🎓 What You Need to Qualify

To apply for this job, you should:

Have Grade 12 / Matric (preferred but not a must)
Be fluent in English
Be physically fit and able to stand for long hours
Be friendly, helpful, and hardworking
Enjoy working with a team
Be willing to work weekends and holidays
Be willing to learn and grow in the retail space

💼 Do You Need Experience?

While it’s a bonus to have retail experience, it’s not required for all roles. You’ll be trained on the job! But if you do have experience in customer service or merchandising, that’s a big plus.
