Are you a recent Human Resources N6 graduate from a TVET College and still need practical experience to complete your qualification? Then this is the opportunity youโ€™ve been waiting for!

The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is offering an exciting Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme to help students like YOU gain the hands-on experience required to graduate. This is more than just an internshipโ€”itโ€™s a golden stepping stone into the Human Resources profession, and it comes with a generous stipend of R8,500 per month!

๐Ÿ“Œ Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is perfect for TVET students who have completed their N6 qualification in Human Resources (or other HR-related fields). You must be:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 35
  • A South African citizen
  • Unemployed and in need of workplace experience to graduate
  • Able to provide:
    • A letter from your college confirming completion of your theoretical studies
    • A Workplace-Based Learning Logbook from your college to record your learning outcomes

To succeed in this internship, youโ€™ll need to bring the right attitude and capabilities. The OPFA is looking for candidates who are:

  • Professional, with a strong work ethic
  • Great communicators
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to handle confidential information with integrity

๐Ÿ’ผ What Youโ€™ll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities

Youโ€™ll gain real-world experience across the full HR spectrum, including:

โœ… Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Assist in job postings, screening, scheduling interviews
  • Help with psychometric testing processes
  • Support onboarding & employment contracting
  • Coordinate offboarding for exiting employees

โœ… HR Records & Systems

  • Maintain and organize employee records
  • Update headcount reports and organograms
  • Assist with HR audits, long service awards, and compliance

โœ… Payroll & Reporting

  • Collect payroll input documents
  • Compile HR reports (absenteeism, new hires, turnover, etc.)

โœ… HR Support & Admin

  • Prepare appointment and regret letters
  • Support general HR queries and ad hoc tasks
  • Keep the Workplace Learning Logbook up to date with daily tasks

Youโ€™ll be mentored by experienced HR professionals and gain solid exposure to day-to-day HR operations in a formal office environment.
