About the Job:
We’re on the hunt for talented and energetic individuals to join our team as Port Workers! As a Port Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment, handling cargo, and keeping our operations running smoothly. Job Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including ship-to-shore cranes, rail wagons, and containers
- Inspecting container conditions to ensure compliance with regulations
- Monitoring reefer operations and reporting any issues
- Opening and closing rail wagon twist-locks
- Loading, off-loading, and slacking cargo in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Hooking and unhooking cargo containers
- Tarping and untarping cargo containers
- Placing and removing dunnage (wooden or metal blocks used to secure cargo)
- Cleaning operational areas, rail trucks, plant, workshops, offices, sheds, and ablution facilities
- Completing accident reports and other relevant documentation
- Identifying the correct cargo handling equipment and gear

Requirements:
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience
- Alternatively, Grade 10 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of terminal layout, safety procedures, and stack positions
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
