What You Will Be Doing Each Day

Managing Guest Reservations

One of your main tasks will be dealing with hotel bookings. You will capture reservations, make changes when needed, and ensure guests receive all the correct details before they arrive. This requires accuracy, calmness, and an understanding of how hotel reservation systems work.

With more than three years of hotel reservation experience required, Orion Hotels & Resorts is looking for someone who already knows how to manage bookings without confusion. This means understanding check-in dates, room types, special requests, cancellations, and any other reservation-related tasks.

Welcoming Guests at the Front Desk

As the Receptionist, you will be the person guests see first when they walk into the hotel. Your job is to make them feel comfortable and attended to. This includes checking guests in and out, answering their questions, guiding them to the right places, and making sure they understand the hotel’s services.

You will be expected to act professionally, communicate clearly, and always keep a positive attitude. Because this job deals with many different types of guests, strong interpersonal skills are very important.

Helping Guests Solve Problems

Hotels are fast-moving environments, and things do not always go as planned. Guests may arrive early, request changes, report issues, or ask for assistance. You will help them find solutions quickly and politely. Being calm under pressure is a big advantage.

Your goal is to make guests feel heard and supported. A happy guest will always remember how they were treated.

Working With the Hotel Team

As part of the customer service and front-office operations, you will work with many departments inside the hotel. This includes housekeeping, reservations, maintenance, and management. Good communication helps make sure everything runs smoothly.


What You Need Before You Apply

Work Experience

Orion Hotels & Resorts requires at least 3 years of hotel reservations experience. This must be real hotel industry experience, not general admin or non-hospitality booking work. They want someone who understands how hotel systems operate and who can work confidently without constant supervision.

Educational Requirements

You need to have at least a Matric qualification. This ensures you have basic literacy and numeracy skills needed for daily tasks at the front desk.

Location Requirements

Because the hotel is based in Broederstroom, the ideal candidate must stay nearby or be able to travel easily to the hotel. This job is not suitable for someone who lives far from the area.
