What You’ll Be Doing Every Day

As a Sales Assistant at PEP, your job is to keep the store running smoothly while helping customers have the best shopping experience. Here’s what your tasks will include:

Greeting customers as they walk in and offering help right away.
Selling products by being friendly and suggesting items customers might also like.
Answering questions and helping customers with any problems.
Operating the till (cash register), making sure all sales are done correctly and honestly.
Keeping the store neat and clean, especially the front area and till section.
Receiving and organizing new stock when it’s delivered.
Helping with displays, so the store always looks great and exciting.
Learning about new products and sharing that info with customers.
Making sure security rules are followed, and helping reduce stock losses.
Working with the rest of the team to make things efficient and fun.

At PEP, your honesty is very important — especially since you’ll be handling money and working with customers directly. If you’re trustworthy and take your work seriously, you’re already on the right track.

What You’ll Need to Get the Job

Before applying, make sure you meet these basic requirements:

Matric certificate (Grade 12).
Some experience in sales, customer service, cashier work, or retail is helpful.
You can speak and understand English.
You must live within 15km of the store location.
You must have a clear criminal record.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have)

Even though these are not required, they can help your chances:

You’re between the ages of 20 and 30.
You’re South African.
You are comfortable using a computer.
You truly enjoy working in retail and helping customers.
