What This Role Involves

As a Graduate Receptionist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth communication and efficient daily operations. You’ll be the link between visitors, clients, and employees — helping everyone feel welcomed and supported. Your main duties will include:

  • Managing incoming calls through the company’s switchboard and directing them to the correct departments or staff members.
  • Greeting visitors warmly and ensuring they have a positive and professional experience.
  • Keeping the reception area neat, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Scheduling meetings, appointments, and conference room bookings for staff and clients.
  • Handling mail, deliveries, and basic office administration tasks such as maintaining office supplies.
  • Monitoring office equipment (like phones and printers) to ensure they are working properly.
  • Assisting with general administrative projects as required.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth internal communication.

What You’ll Need to Qualify

To apply, you must have a Diploma in Office Administration or an equivalent qualification. The position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to build experience in a professional business setting.

Other important requirements include:

  • You must not be part of a current SETA-funded programme.
  • The contract will run from 10 November 2025 for 12 months.
  • Working hours are 07h30 to 16h30, and you must be available to work within this schedule.
  • At least 6 months of experience in reception or call centre management within a corporate environment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential; knowing a second official language will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate professionally at all levels.
  • A friendly, confident, and service-oriented personality that leaves a great impression.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A neat, professional appearance that reflects the company’s image.
  • Having your own vehicle will be advantageous due to the operational requirements of opening and closing the office.
