About the VKB Group

The VKB Group is a proudly South African company deeply rooted in agriculture. With decades of experience, the group has grown from providing farming essentials to farmers into a fully integrated agribusiness. Job Purpose

The Picker position at NTK Distribution Centre is vital for keeping operations running smoothly. As a Picker, you will be responsible for handling stock — from picking and packing to receiving and dispatching. You’ll also help with stock control and ensure that goods are moved safely and efficiently.

This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to work independently. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and don’t mind manual handling, this job is a good fit for you.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

If you’re successful, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Picking, checking, and packing stock accurately.
  • Receiving goods and preparing them for dispatch.
  • Assisting with stock control to ensure everything is tracked and organized.
  • Operating a forklift when needed (having a forklift license will give you an advantage).
  • Manually handling products weighing up to 15kg.

These tasks are essential in making sure the distribution process runs efficiently and customers receive their orders on time.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / NQF 4 qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • A forklift license will be advantageous but not compulsory.

Skills and Attributes

The VKB Group is looking for candidates who bring the right mix of skills and personal qualities. Successful applicants should be:

  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
  • Good at timekeeping and reliable.
  • Able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Organized and capable of handling busy workloads.

Important Information for Applicants

Before applying, here are a few key things to keep in mind:

  • The company reserves the right to close vacancies at any time.
  • VKB Group and its subsidiaries will use your personal data only for recruitment and employment purposes.
  • VKB is an equal opportunity employer and actively supports the employment of people with disabilities. The company’s Employment Equity Plan will be taken into account during the recruitment process.

Application Tips

When applying through the VKB Career Portal:

  1. Always use Google Chrome for the best performance.
  2. Prepare a clear CV in PDF or Word format (no handwritten documents).
  3. Upload only your CV in the “Upload CV” section — don’t include other documents in the same file.
  4. The application portal will allow you to upload supporting documents (like ID or driver’s license) separately.
  5. If uploading a profile photo, make sure it is at least 300 x 300 pixels in size.

Why Apply for This Job?

This Picker role is not just another warehouse job — it’s a chance to become part of a growing company that is central to South Africa’s food supply chain. You’ll gain valuable skills in logistics, stock management, and distribution while working in a supportive environment.

For anyone looking to take the next step in their career, whether in warehousing, operations, or agriculture-linked logistics, this role can be the foundation for long-term growth.
