What You’ll Be Doing as an Assistant Store Manager

As the Assistant Store Manager, you’ll be the right-hand person to the Store Manager. When the manager is not around, you’ll take charge and make sure everything in the store runs smoothly. You’ll also help the manager with daily responsibilities and make sure that customers leave the store happy.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Handle all banking duties and make sure money is kept safe and secure.
Step in for the Store Manager when they’re off or unavailable.
Keep the store clean, neat, and organized by following housekeeping rules.
Help reduce stock losses and theft by following shrinkage control procedures.
Make sure store security rules are always followed.
Support the store manager in leading the team and making sure everyone does their job.
Make sure cashiers and sales staff follow the right procedures at the tills.
Keep an eye on the cash office and make sure everything adds up.
Offer top-quality customer service and help solve customer issues.
Think of new ideas to boost sales and help the store reach its targets.

What You’ll Need to Qualify

Power Fashion doesn’t ask for a degree. They want someone with a strong personality, leadership potential, and some experience. Here’s what you need:

Grade 12 / Matric (Maths is a bonus).
At least some experience leading or managing a team.
Experience managing a department or area in a store.
Retail experience, especially in clothing stores, is a big plus.
Good at speaking and writing clearly (communication skills).
Able to handle admin work and planning without making mistakes.
Someone who can make quick and smart decisions.
Be organized and able to plan ahead.
