You’ll be working directly under the Panfontein Manager, helping the team with day-to-day office tasks, keeping vehicle and staff records up to date, and making sure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork.


What You’ll Need To Apply

Rand Water is looking for someone who has a combination of experience and basic qualifications. Here’s what they expect from you:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • A Grade 12 certificate (Matric).
    • At least 2 years of experience working in administration or a similar role.
    • A National Certificate in Office Administration.
    • Must know how to use Maximo, a tool used for work orders and tracking.
    • Computer skills are a must — especially with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
    • You must also have 2 years of SAP system knowledge.
    • A valid Code 8 driver’s license is essential.
    • You should be able to type quickly and write clear reports.
  • Preferred Qualification:
    • A National Diploma in Office Administration will give you a competitive edge.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Office Assistant at Rand Water, your daily work will involve many tasks to keep the office running well. You’ll help both the staff and the manager with important duties like:

  • Handling all staff and vehicle admin such as trip sheets, service bookings, and loan vehicles.
  • Managing schedules, organizing team meetings, booking travel, and handling emails or letters.
  • Making sure the manager’s time is used well by supporting them with secretarial duties.
  • Keeping the office neat and well-supplied, and updating all filing and record systems.
  • Using Maximo to create work orders and keeping track of submission deadlines.
  • Creating SAP reservations and requisitions when items or services need to be ordered.
  • Submitting staff timesheets, travel claims, and other forms to the correct departments.
  • Making sure invoices are signed and sent to the finance department quickly.
  • Taking care of receptionist duties, like answering phones or welcoming visitors.
  • Making sure noticeboards are always updated with the latest info.

What You Should Know & Be Good At

  • Be comfortable with computers, especially SAP, Excel, and Word.
  • Be able to use Maximo effectively.
  • Type accurately and write simple but professional reports.
  • Know how to answer phones and speak clearly and politely.
  • Be organized and ready to help where needed.
  • Have good communication skills in English — both talking and writing.
  • Be friendly and work well with others.
