Role Overview

As a General Worker in the operations and manufacturing division, you’ll play an important role in the production process. This includes preparing products, ensuring quality control, and helping keep the production line running smoothly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Remove foils before packing products.
• Collect crates containing pastry trimmings.
• Conduct x-ray checks on trimmings to ensure product safety.
• Step in to assist with packing when staff shortages occur.
• Join pastry sections and perform hopper filling.
• Carry out quality checks such as verifying egg wash coating, pie shape, and filling amounts.
• Monitor pies going into the spiral conveyor to prevent blockages.
• Refill egg wash as needed.
• Portion pastry accurately.
• Assemble boxes, insert dividers, and handle de-boxing when necessary.
• Follow all Quality and Food Safety procedures as outlined in company policies and SOPs.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you will need:

• Matric / N4 or equivalent qualification.
• Numerical and reading literacy skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
• FMCG industry experience (advantageous).
