About the YES Youth Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) programme is a government-backed initiative designed to help young people gain real workplace experience. For many, this is the first step into the job market, helping to build confidence, skills, and employability.

With American Swiss, you’ll spend 12 months learning how retail works—from customer service to stock handling—while being part of a supportive team in a professional environment.

Who Can Apply

To be considered for this opportunity, you need to meet the following requirements:

Be aged between 18 and 28 years old.
Have Matric (preferable) or Grade 10 as the minimum education level.
Be available to work a full-time 12-month fixed-term contract.
Not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than 1 year.
Not be studying full-time during the programme period (April 2025 – March 2026).
Not have participated in or been registered on the YES programme before.
Be responsible for your own accommodation and transport if needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

During your time with American Swiss, you will:

Assist customers in finding the perfect piece of jewellery.
Learn how to maintain high standards of store presentation.
Gain skills in handling transactions and using point-of-sale systems.
Work with a team to meet store targets and deliver excellent customer service.
Learn the basics of stock management and merchandising.
