Main Purpose of the Job: As a Reception Administrator, you will assist patients with their admissions and discharges, ensuring operational and financial risks are minimized while consistently exceeding client expectations. You will maintain patient confidentiality and handle the administrative responsibilities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Admissions & Pre-admissions: Accurately capture and process patient admissions, including pre-admissions and bookings.

Financial Risk Prevention: Follow policies and procedures to prevent financial risks.

Discharge Process: Ensure an effective discharge process according to the Patient Administration Manual.

Confidentiality: Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.

Required Education:

Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Desired: None specified.

Experience Requirements:

Essential: No prior experience required.
Desired: Reception administration experience, particularly in a private healthcare facility.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Familiarity with Debtpack Enquiry application to check for outstanding amounts.
Knowledge of Patient Administration policies and procedures, including admissions, bed functions, discharge processes, and patient confidentiality.
Experience with hospital switchboard systems and handling emergency protocols.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and understanding of medical coding (ICD and CPT codes).
Awareness of Medical Aid Schemes and the Workman’s Compensation Act (WCA) processes.
Ability to identify and manage potential financial risks, such as handling patient valuables or blacklisted patients.
