As a Shop Assistant Cashier, your main goal will be to make sure our customers have a fantastic shopping experience. Key Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a smile, ensuring they have a pleasant shopping experience.
- Checkout Duties: Accurately ring up purchases and handle different types of payments, including cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Product Assistance: Help customers find products and suggest additional items they might like.
- Phone Support: Answer customer calls and handle their inquiries efficiently.
- Record Management: Keep customer records up-to-date and accurate.
- Stock Presentation: Ensure shelves are well-stocked and products are displayed attractively.
- Restocking: Continuously replenish shelves with new stock to maintain availability.
- Pricing and Displays: Make sure all product prices are correct and that promotional displays are appealing.
- Receiving Deliveries: Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries using store tools and software.
- Store Cleanliness: Keep the store clean and tidy to provide a welcoming environment.
- Preparation for Next Day: Get everything in order for a smooth start the next day.
- Stock Checks: Help the manager prepare for regular stock checks.
- Equipment Care: Look after store equipment, ensuring it’s safe and functional.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure shopping environment.
- Payment Handling: Manage cash and card transactions accurately and ensure daily banking tasks are completed efficiently.
- Sales Targets: Understand and work towards daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
- Loss Prevention: Participate in strategies to reduce stock loss and increase profitability.

What We’re Looking For

- Matric Qualification: A high school diploma is required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier, in sales, or customer service will be beneficial.
- Proximity: Living within 15km of the job location is preferred.
