Room Attendant Job Opportunity at Agulhas National Park – Apply Now

Job Location

The vacancy is based at Agulhas National Park, a popular tourist destination known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities.

Applicants must live outside the park and will need to arrange their own transport to and from work.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or NCV level 4 certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • 1–2 years of practical experience working in a public cleaning or tourism environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in the workplace.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of customer service principles to provide excellent guest service.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for long hours while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and various shifts, as required in the hospitality industry.
  • First Aid knowledge will be a bonus and an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

As a Room Attendant at Agulhas National Park, your role will include a wide variety of important duties, such as:

  • Performing cleaning tasks in chalets and guest facilities, including:
    • Changing bed linen
    • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
    • Polishing furniture
    • Removing waste, all while maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Cleaning public areas like reception, restrooms, and walkways.
  • Reporting damages, spillages, or irregularities to the Duty Manager for corrective action.
  • Managing and controlling inventory to ensure that guest amenities, cleaning supplies, and linen are always stocked.
  • Reporting maintenance issues promptly according to standard procedures.
  • Providing professional and courteous service to guests, ensuring their needs are met on time.
  • Handling lost and found items according to set procedures.
  • Assisting with laundry duties, including sorting, bagging, and storing linen.
  • Following strict health and safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and chemical handling.
  • Maintaining accurate records of cleaning supplies and stock used daily.
  • Organizing daily tasks to maximize efficiency and ensure smooth operations.

This role plays a key part in creating a positive experience for visitors and keeping facilities in excellent condition.


Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a basic salary aligned with Paterson A3 job grading, along with applicable allowances and benefits as per SANParks employment policies.
