Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker in Receiving and Despatch, your daily tasks will include:

Handling Documentation

• Capturing and distributing waybill and POD (Proof of Delivery) data.
• Issuing agent waybill numbers and consignments.
• Printing manifests and obtaining signatures for verification.

Sorting and Preparation

• Sorting consignments based on waybill instructions.
• Preparing the SAA Master Waybill for shipments.
• Recording dimensions and weight of goods accurately into the Freightware System and onto waybills.

Cargo Handling

• Ensuring all cargo is handled carefully and according to company standards.
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles at the depot.
• Performing general housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and organized.

Customer Payments

• Collecting cash payments and releasing goods once payments are verified.

These duties require precision, responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining smooth operations within the depot.
