Purpose of the Learnership

The SAB Sales and Marketing Learnership aims to develop a market-driven, customer-focused workforce. Learners will be trained to grow SAB’s brand presence, boost sales volumes, and build long-term relationships with tavern owners and customers.

The program combines theoretical learning with practical experience, preparing participants to deliver outstanding service and drive sustainable business growth.


Key Responsibilities

As a learner in this program, your role will include:

Sales and Merchandising

  • Ensure 100% product availability by monitoring stock levels at each outlet.
  • Manage stock rotation to maintain quality and prevent shortages.
  • Execute merchandising strategies in line with SAB’s In-Trade Execution Guidelines (ITEG).
  • Negotiate and implement price and promotion plans throughout the year.
  • Monitor competitors and secure prime shelf space for SAB products.

Customer Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tavern owners and other customers.
  • Make weekly customer visits to strengthen partnerships and resolve issues.
  • Ensure customer data is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Meet weekly sales and volume targets consistently.
  • Encourage outlets to purchase directly from SAB.

Planning and Organisation

  • Work with the sales team to create strategies that match customer needs.
  • Pay attention to detail and deliver plans that exceed customer expectations.
  • Handle administrative tasks efficiently.

Asset Management

  • Manage and track SAB fridges and other company assets.
  • Make sure fridges are stocked correctly with SAB products.
  • Assist customers in managing their stock to avoid shortages.
  • Complete asset verification surveys and audits.

  • Have local area knowledge of Kimberley.

  • Successfully complete a drivers’ assessment test before starting the role.
