SANPARKS – Field Assistant (Meerkat National Park)

A position for a Field Assistant on a fixed-term contract up to the end of March 2027 (renewable on mutual agreement) is available at Meerkat National Park.

The Salary is on a B4 band, R 11 260.24 Salary + R 2 310.58 housing as the incumbent will be staying outside the Park.

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate / Senior Certificate
• Code 10 driver’s license with PrDP
• Computer Literacy in MS Office
• 2 Years’ experience with contracting teams/management of personnel
• Valid Health & Safety Certificate
• Experience in rehabilitation techniques and invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position

Responsibilities

• Assist with project-related planning
• Assist with the management and mentoring of EPWP contract
• Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task-based operations linked to the project
• Ensure compliance with program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements
• Assist with mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
• Assist with administrative tasks
• Report on project progress
• Communicate and liaise with relevant stakeholders
