Job Role: General Worker – Mining

The General Worker – Mining position supports the Maintenance Team at Sasol’s Secunda Mining operations. As a Maintenance Operator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the maintenance and reliability of equipment while following standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and sustainability of equipment on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately complete job-specific tasks and checklists.
Conduct visual inspections of the working environment, adhering to safety standards and reporting unsafe conditions.
Apply job-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Codes of Practice (COPs) to maintain cleanliness and order.

Collaborate efficiently with the team to achieve common goals.
Act on cost-saving initiatives, keeping in mind how individual actions impact overall team costs.
Report all activities to supervisors.
Provide assistance to artisans with daily tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential: Grade 12/N3 qualifications.

Advantageous:

Knowledge of Mathematics and Science.

A valid driver’s license.

Basic knowledge of the mining industry.

12 months of plant experience with conveyor systems.
