What is the Job About?

In this job, you’ll be trained to use machines that help produce coal underground. You’ll work closely with experienced team members who will guide and teach you. Your Main Tasks Will Be:

• Learning to operate underground mining machinery.
• Helping keep your work area clean and safe at all times.
• Spotting problems with equipment without always needing help.
• Doing all kinds of general work as needed.
• Attending training sessions so you become skilled in operating machinery.

What You Need to Apply:

Before applying, make sure you meet the following minimum requirements:

• You must have passed at least Grade 10, with Math, Science, and English.
• You should be able to read, write, and speak English well.
• You must be ready and willing to learn how to use mining machines.
• You should have a strong focus on safety and be able to follow safety rules closely.
• You need to be comfortable working in a production environment with pressure.
• You must not be afraid of heights or large machines.
• You must be fit and able to work in teams.
• You must be ready to do a driving assessment and pass it.
• You should be willing to go through a behavior test.

Also, you’ll need to have or be able to get a valid Certificate of Fitness for working in the mines.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Any previous experience in mining (even a little bit).
• A valid K53 driver’s license.
