South African Weather Service Launches 2025 Work Integrated Learnership – Apply Now

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is inviting suitably qualified learners to apply for its Work Integrated Learning Programme 2025 (18-months, 3 positions available). This programme is designed for TVET College graduates who are eager to gain workplace experience. The closing date for applications is 26 August 2025.

About the Work Integrated Learning Programme

This 18-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme is an excellent opportunity for learners who have completed their N6 qualification in Management Assistant. The programme is specifically aimed at TVET College learners, giving them the chance to apply what they’ve studied in a real work setting.

Fields Available

The following field is available under this WIL Programme:

  • Management Assistant N6 – 3 Positions
  • Reference Number: SAWSWIL 2025

This means that only learners who have completed an N6 in Management Assistant are eligible to apply.


Requirements to Apply

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have completed an N6 in Management Assistant.
  • Must have been unemployed for less than one year since finishing the N6.
  • Must provide a Certificate of Achievement and a letter from your college confirming intent to complete your Diploma.
  • Your CV must clearly include personal details such as ID, physical address, and relevant qualifications.
  • People living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should provide a confirmation letter of disability from a doctor.

Benefits of the Programme

Successful candidates will receive:

  • A monthly stipend of R5500 to support them during the programme.

Please note: Learners will need to arrange their own transport and accommodation as the programme will be based at the SAWS offices in Centurion.

Also, it’s important to note that the South African Weather Service is under no obligation to employ learners once the programme ends. However, the skills and experience gained will be invaluable for your career.
