SPAR Retail Stores Pty (Ltd), a division of The SPAR Group Ltd, is hiring for an Admin Assistant position at SuperSpar Menlyn Maine. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in finance and administration to join a dynamic team and contribute to store accounting operations.

Job Description and Purpose

The Admin Assistant will be responsible for identifying and implementing best operating practices from a store accounting perspective. The role involves ensuring that all financial data and transactions are accurately captured and reconciled, ultimately producing accurate trial balances and financial reports.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

  • Bank Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank account ledgers and cash-ups daily.
  • Supplier Accounts: Reconcile weekly Drop Shipment and DC Warehouse supplier accounts.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
  • Daily Sales Reporting: Balance and report on daily sales figures.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time for month-end reporting.
  • Journal Entries: Capture and review journal entries as needed.
  • Supervision: Oversee the store admin team.
  • Document Management: Manage and control document management systems.

  • Fixed Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Finance Projects: Support various ad-hoc finance-related projects.
  • Payment Submissions: Manage payment submissions.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Matric (Grade 12) with Accounting and Mathematics.

Tertiary Qualification: Relevant qualification or currently studying towards one.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an FMCG environment.

Skills:

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Assertiveness and strong analytical skills, particularly in reconciliations.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Highly organized and dependable.

Software Skills:

Intermediate Excel skills (mandatory).

SAP experience (advantageous).

Experience with EasyAcc required.
